Twelve years ago in a Roswell High School PE class, there were two activities to choose from on Fridays. Either you played basketball or walked laps on the indoor track.

Liam would always start the day playing basketball with his friends, but moments later would vanish from the court. His friends would look around to find him walking with that girl again. Grace didn’t know anyone in the class and figured walking on the track was the best way to not sweat before second period.

After a few weeks and a hundred laps around the track, Liam finally built up the courage to ask her on a date. They had one issue though; neither could drive yet…

In the spirit of walking the track, and in an effort to keep his parents out of the loop, Liam walked nearly 2 miles to the first date. Meanwhile Grace’s parents were VERY interested in who this older boy was. Dad dropped her off with a clear message. “Take care of her,” he said while peering into Liam’s soul from behind a pair of tinted Maui Jim sunglasses. Then after a successful first date, Mom picked her up to get “the 4-1-1,” as she would say, on the boy.

Grace and Liam dated throughout high school and college, growing up together in the process. They spent 5 years in a long distance relationship while Liam was in Nashville and Grace was in Athens. The ease of maintaining the relationship during this time only strengthened their bond, and assured them they could survive anything together.

In 2023, Grace and Liam would take a leap of faith together and move across the country to begin their adult lives in Seattle.

A lot has changed since 2013. Grace no longer has braces and Liam has mysterious aches and pains. However, one constant has remained. Grace and Liam’s commitment to each other has been unwavering and unconditional. No matter what phase of life they’re in, they’ll always choose each other.
